Biology Lab
Biology is the natural science that studies life and living organisms, including their physical structure, chemical processes, molecular interactions, physiological mechanisms, development and evolution.
Despite the complexity of the science, there are certain unifying concepts that consolidate it into a single, coherent field.
Biology recognizes the cell as the basic unit of life, genes as the basic unit of heredity, and evolution as the engine that propels the creation and extinction of species. Living organisms are open systems that survive by transforming energy and decreasing their local entropy to maintain a stable and vital condition defined as homeostasis.
Sub-disciplines of biology are defined by the research methods employed and the kind of system studied: theoretical biology uses mathematical methods to formulate quantitative models while experimental biology performs empirical experiments to test the validity of proposed theories and understand the mechanisms underlying life and how it appeared and evolved from non-living matter about 4 billion years ago through a gradual increase in the complexity of the system.
The biology laboratory is a modern research infrastructure, providing a broad range of biological and biochemical techniques with in-depth practical training offered by experienced staff. Important routine work is on microbial and molecular analyses and biological sample preparation in general.
Several special applications, such as respiration experiments, enzyme kinetics, sterile culturing of microalgae, morphological taxonomic determination of fish larvae, or fatty acid sample preparation to characterize the nutritional status and composition of marine plankton. All these techniques ground on long standing expertise and a well-equipped facility (high precision scale, photometers, Fast Prep, Casey Cell counter and more).
Importance of biology lab for students.
The study of biology provides students with opportunities to develop an understanding of our living world. Laboratory and field activities and inquiry provide students with opportunities to question, observe, sample, experience, and experiment with scientific phenomena in their quest for knowledge of living things.
Chemistry Lab
Chemistry is the scientific discipline involved with elements and compounds composed of atoms, molecules and ions, their composition, structure, properties, behavior and the changes they undergo during a reaction with other substances. Chemistry addresses topics such as how atoms and molecules interact via chemical bonds to form new chemical compounds.
Importance of chemistry for students.
Everything is made of chemicals. Many of the changes we observe in the world around we see that caused by chemical reactions. Chemistry is very important because it helps us to know the composition, structure& changes of matter. All the matters are made up of chemistry. In our every day like various chemical are being used in various from, some of those are being used as food, some of those used clanging etc.
Chemistry Laboratory
At every stage in life, we are connected to different aspects of chemistry directly or indirectly. It encircles a variety of fields –agriculture, food, medicine, fertilizers, polymers, metals etc. Thus, the knowledge of chemistry is useful in different aspects of human life.
Chemistry lab aims to
- show our students the excitement of science.
- raise the attainment in science by supporting the school curriculum.
- inspire our students to become the scientists of the future.
Our chemistry lab is well equipped with chemicals and other apparatus to cater to the needs of all the students up to class 12. Students start using the chemistry lab from class 6 onward. They show great enthusiasm in using chemicals and perform hands on experiments. It is also supported by a virtual lab which is used to conduct experiments on the board and observe the reactions. The virtual lab also provides animations of chemical reactions at the molecular level. The lab has an excellent safety system with fire extinguishers and a shower cum eye washer equipment.
The lab inculcates curiosity and inquisitiveness in students. It plays a very important role in developing a scientific temperament in our students.
Composite Lab
Physics Lab
Physics is one of the most important subjects in all classes. Students must know all the experiments along with theorems, laws, and numerical to understand all the concepts of physics in a detailed way. We have fully equipped lab with well trained staff and teaching faculty.
Physics is an experimental science. The theoretical concepts and relationships introduced in the lecture part of the course describe the general nature and behaviour of real phenomena. They were, appropriately, discovered by (or inducted from) careful observation and thoughtful analysis of actual experiments. Genuine understanding entails being able to relate the abstract ideas to the particular facts to which they correspond.
The premise of the scientific method is that (observation of) nature is the ultimate judge of the truth of any physical theory. Indeed, experiments designed to prove certain ideas have often ended up showing them to be wrong. Consequently, all physical concepts must be verified experimentally if they are to be accepted as representing laws of nature.
Accordingly, the introductory physics laboratories have the following purposes and goals:
- To provide an experimental foundation for the theoretical concepts introduced in the lectures. It is important that students have an opportunity to verify some of the ideas for themselves.
- To familiarize students with experimental apparatus, the scientific method, and methods of data analysis so that they will have some idea of the inductive process by which the ideas were originated.
- To teach how to make careful experimental observations and how to think about and draw conclusions from such data.
- To introduce the methods used for estimating and dealing with experimental uncertainties, including simple ideas in probability theory and the distinctions between random (statistical) and systematic “errors.” This is essential in understanding what valid conclusions can be deduced from experimental data and that, properly obtained, these conclusions are valid, notwithstanding the uncertainty of the data.
- To learn how to write a technical report which communicates scientific information in a clear and concise manner.
- To introduce new concepts and techniques which have a wide application in experimental science, but have not been introduced in the standard courses. These may require that the student consult additional textbooks. In physics class, lab is central, Integral and Sacred. More than a mere place in the back of the classroom, the laboratory is the place where physics students do physics. It is in the laboratory that physics students learn to practice the activities of scientists – asking questions, performing procedures, collecting data, analysing data, answering questions, and thinking of new questions to explore.

Art & Craft Room
Arts and crafts as a subject in the school curriculum are typically taken for granted as a must for children and young kids in the formal education.
In a world where technology has become a vital part of everyday life and has hooked everyone to their screen, children are no exception too. To keep them entertained and prevent them from being a chaotic distraction, We at MAIS trained our children to keep them busy with all sorts of technological advancements.
There is no doubt that arts and crafts are fun activities for kids. Be it coloring with crayons or making miniature statues with clay, folding paper to create fine origami or designing a handmade birthday card, there are several arts and crafts activities, which can enhance the interest of the children and exploit their artistic potential. The importance of Art and Craft is beyond our expectations, and with proven favorable prosperous outcomes. It should be one of the key elements that should be incorporated in the lives of children to promote and ensure great development.
At MAIS art is a crucial part of the curriculum. We want to create a wholesome learning experience for children, that will bring out their talents, hone their skills, and help them to achieve important developmental milestones. We use different media and materials, to give children a wide variety of ways to express their artistic side while learning critical skills. All of these will prepare them well for their higher classes and life in general.
